Zocalo

Zocalo has been in Edmonton’s Little Italy for over a decade. This combined greenhouse, café, and gift shop is open all year round. My favourite whimsical spot to sip on a Mocha is at the long harvest table in their greenhouse. If you are looking to escape Edmonton’s -30C winters, take a staycation at Zocalo. Indulge in a cappuccino and one of their dark chocolate truffles while surrounded by flowers and greenery.

Board N Brew Café

If you want a night filled with hot lattes, cold beers, and board games, visit Board N Brew. Their menu is full of local options; Situation, Yellowhead, and Alley Kat Beer are on tap, Phil & Sebastian’s Albertan Roasted coffee is brewed fresh, and Battista’s Calzones are hot and delicious. The Servers and Game Masters will take care of all your drink needs and game questions. All you need to do is pick one of their 700 games, a beer, a winning game strategy, and enjoy yourself.

Let Eat Snow Dessert Café

Bingsoo cafes are Edmonton’s new favourite dessert. What is Bingsoo? I’m glad you asked! This Asian treat is crafted from shaved frozen milk garnished with a selection of tasty toppings. Let Eat Snow adds extra layers into their Bings making every bite a delicious icy treat. Mix your cold and hot together by combining it with one of their lattes. This chilly dessert goes well with every season.

Mandolin Books and Coffee Company

If you are looking for a cozy nook to enjoy a good read and a great coffee, visit Mandolin Books. This charming little used bookstore café has been a community gathering place in the Historical Highlands neighbourhood for over a decade. Their specialty drinks are brewed with Edmonton’s Catfish Coffee and served in locally made pottered mugs. You’ll get hooked on all their books!

Cat Café on Whyte

The Cat Café on Whyte serves up lattes in the café and cat cuddles in the lounge. You can order a Catpurrccino or Meowcchiato all made with Edmonton’s ACE Coffee Roasters. Inside their cats are napping on little beds, adventuring on the walls, and playing with toys. Find a couch with a cat to snuggle with and enjoy this paw-some place to relax. All the cats are adoptable through their purfect partnership with SAFE (Saving Animals From Euthanasia) Team.

These cafes offer so much more than just a good cup of coffee. Each has its own personality and warm welcoming environment where you can escape the city life, slow down, sit back, and hug a warm mug. Indulge in these 5 unique Edmonton Cafés to get perked up any time of the year.
