Paris Crew is so much more than just an Art Gallery, it is a place where creativity is fostered and thrives. The gallery features photography, woodworking, jewelry, pottery and more by local artists. They even have their own brand of candles and maple syrup. Since they first opened, they have focused on beautiful presentation and helping visitors experience art with all their senses. In the beginning, they started with mini pop-up musical performances and are now offering pottery, painting, and polymer clay jewelry classes.

One of their potters, Leanne McDonald teaches hand-built pottery classes. This unique hands-on experience is a perfect activity for a date, an outing with friends, or a mother-daughter afternoon together. I attended one of her mug-making classes with my mom for Mother’s day. It was so much fun! My mom had never worked with clay before and found it easy to follow Leanne’s instructions. Everyone’s mug had its own personality; Leanne encouraged each person’s creativity as we moulded our clay. The extra detail I added to my mug was a hidden unicorn stamped into the bottom! During the class they offered us a hot drink or alcoholic beverage, I enjoyed a cup of coffee, while my mom sipped on tea. Once our creations were complete, Leanne collected all of them to be fired and glazed later.

Leanne is a long-time friend of mine and gifted me my spot in the class. I was not financially compensated for this post. The opinions are completely my own based on my experience.

I can not wait to pick up our mugs once they are finished! If you are looking for a unique activity to do I highly recommended checking out one of her classes. It doesn’t matter if you have never played with clay before, you will create something fun & useful! Find all of the current classes on Paris Crew website here.

Respectfully acknowledge that I am located in the Traditional Wəlastəkwiyik land. And that this area is on the unceded and unsurrendered territories of the Wolastoqiyik, Peskotomuhkati and Mi’kmaq, respectively known as Wolastokuk, Peskotomuhkatik and Mi’kma'ki. These lands are covered by the Treaties of Peace and Friendship first signed with the British Crown in 1725, and then recognized and affirmed by Canada in section 35 of the Constitution Act of 1982. The treaties did not surrender the territory and resources but in fact recognized Wolastokuk, Peskotomuhkatik and Mi’kma'ki title, and established the rules for what was to be an ongoing relationship between nations. I pay respect to the elders, past and present, and descendants of this land.
