Love Calgary through food

Last weekend we traveled to Calgary and made sure to pack our stomachs. Join me on a journey through the many Calgary restaurants we visited.

Saturday morning breakfast at  Alforno Bakery & Café. I ordered the sweet and delicious Ricotta Hotcakes. Served warm with honey butter ready to melt on top and yummy berry mix.

The Gravlax Eggs Benedict looked too good to eat!

Supper time came and we checked out Boxwood. I loved the location, it was on the edge of a little park in the city surrounded by trees. We tried a variety of dishes at this farm to table restaurant. To share we ordered the Charcuterie Board, Albacore Tuna Tataki, Organic Chickpea Quinoa & Okanagan Apples Salad, Whole Rotisserie Rainbow Trout, and Mountain View Organic Chicken.

For a late night snack we walked over to Village Ice Cream.   I could smell the waffle cones getting made as we entered. With so many great homemade flavors, it was hard to choose! I decided on a single scoop of Cardamom Ice Cream served in a freshly made waffle cone and I was not disappointed with my choice.

The next day for brunch we walked over to Blue Star Diner. To start my day right I ordered the Back Bacon & Grilled Tomato Bennie. The lunch options looked amazing too, below is the Buttermilk Fried Chicken Burger.

I can’t wait to go back to Calgary and eat at more great places!
